If you have seen FUKREY and liked it, you have the right reference point to FUKREY RETURNS. The film will surely entertain you. It’s funny will be an understatement. It is crazy to an extent, and in many places beats the first of the series hollow. However, reference raises expectation and for them; it fails to measure up to the craziness of last edition.
In case you for some funny reason missed the first one, go and watch this one.
It does not matter that this is a sequel. You can start your FUKREY experience of utter silliness from here. Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chaddha), the lady don, is back from jail after doing a deal with politician, CM in waiting Babulal Bhatia (Rajiv Gupta). She wants the four to pay for their act. The four Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Lali (Manjot Singh) and Zafar (Ali Fazal) are a team and take you through a ride you won’t want to miss. However, you could give it a miss, if slapstick, juvenile, primed with absolute silliness is not your game. No cribbing later.
Varun Sharma (Choocha), is fantastic with his timing and expression. Pankaj Tripathi ( Panditji) support the four wonderfully well. He delivers his verbal and visual expressions with utmost familiarity. You would think; he is not acting and its his real life in screen. He is that good. Richa Chadda ( Bholi Punjaban) captures you with her presence and is as pivotal to the whole game as is Hunny and Choocha. Ali Fazal along with the two heroines of the film would be wondering why they were there. They end up being the only unproductive cast of the film. Rajiv Gupta as the corrupt politician is sharp and impressive.
The dialogues and story could have done with a bit more of sharpness, but then I am not really cribbing. I enjoyed watching it with family. This is to tell you that in spite of few people objecting, it is still a movie you could enjoy with family.
I doubt if there will be FUKREY-III, what else can happen to Choocha. The heart says, I will be more than happy to bet and watch FUKREY-III.
