GOAFEST 2011
45th EPISODE: Goa it was. Goafest 2010 the event. IN earlier edition, we had managed to hijack junior delegates to party. This time, my team was bringing out daily magazine beating the trade publications on content and timelines. It was tough, as the backend, team had never worked together. Team had no experience of covering a Marketing- advertising event. The copies printed in the only available printing center which could do only sheet-feed job. SHAILY TATIA, NEHA MAVANI and MAMTA RANASARIA were doing a great job.
Circulation is an integral and critical part of such projects. It does not matter how good is your product if it does not reach the audience on time. The team through their network was ensuring that copies reached most hotels (identified with Gofest Delegates) before 7 AM. In few of the hotels, we delivered magazine copy to pre-identified rooms even before the morning newspaper.
The same team would help in getting additional fest news and help checking the magazine. However, they had the opening between 2 AM – when the magazine would go to bed and 6 AM when they would get freshly printed copies for delivery. A time when there was nothing for them to do.

Day 2, in night around 1 AM they proposed that we go out gambling. We went to Hyatt but it was nearing their rest time. Someone suggested LEELA, where the Casino remains open throughout. It was a long ride but the team was highly in energy. In no time, we found ourselves seated on the table after having paid the fee. Today also, lady luck worked in my favor unlike the JUHI EFFECT AT SUNCITY. Until Mamta was on my side, I won. When finally I passed few chips to her and she too started playing Roulette, I stopped winning. This happened a lot many time. Finally, I used the BOSS prerogative and banned her from playing chips. Soon I recovered. As we collectively reached a no-win-no-loss situation, it was just time for us to move.
I went back to room and slept and the three KOTI ANGELS went back to work.

Another day and the magazine still hit the hotels, rooms and the Gofest Venue dot on time. Hats off to them. It is not easy to impress a Bhaskarite on execution. The corporate sales team attending the fest was suitably impressed. They know the pain it takes to bring out a magazine. They were appreciative of the team’s efforts. The respect increased manifolds when they came to know how Bindass my team was. When they were sleeping peacefully, Koti Angels were at work creating and distributing the daily magazine. They had enough energy; enthusiasm and will, to squeeze-in manage 3 hours in Casino. I believe ‘If you want to do something you will find time for it’ and this was a great example of it.
