HTA days. Days of many interesting episodes.
This one is one of the simpler client- agency interaction episodes.

It was one of those meetings, where the client was questioning agency’s approach. And the agency was trying desperate measures to defend the same. Samir was leading an aggressive assault on client. A rare moment as far as the Samir’s work style was concerned. He would rather solve an emerging problem with glib talk and drinks. But this was not one of those daysSo, as a last ditch push – Samir opened his favourite assault weapon .

SAMIR          :           Rahul, you don’t see the point
RAHUL           :           What’s the point Samir ( and smiles- it felt that day he was teasing him)
SAMIR            :           Many brands in such condition have taken this approach.
RAHUL           :           Hmmmm
SAMIR            :           I can count 50 such examples on my finger tips
RAHUL           :           Count
SAMIR            :           Hmmmm
RAHUL           :           Waiting- ( opening his hand with one finger raised asking for the first example)

And it followed a big pause, there were no more examples that Samir could remember.

RAHUL           :        Samir, don’t try this stunt with me,. It does not work. Lets get back to the drawing board and hope that the agency comes back with a better solution.

Need less to say, the meeting came to an abrupt end. There was no customary drink session at the Bar of Sofitel that evening. We left the client’s office trying to think what to tell the creative.
