‘The Ray Synchronicity’ by Lata Sony. Polarised Reactions expected

‘The Ray Synchronicity’ is different, as different as it can be. And just to promote such thinking I would ask you to read it. There is no neutrality expected in reaction. You will love it and be excited or you will hate me for asking to read. Allow yourself some time with the book- it follows almost a bell curve of interest and attention.

Lata Sony makes a transient move across genre less travelled by Indian authors, Science fiction. Now layer that with the meaningful (hopefully) tradition and understanding of energies and emotions, Kundali, Chakra’s  and power. Move that in future or may be the past which was more than what future could ever be, and a story starts taking shape. Giving birth to something she refers as ‘Spiritual Science Fiction’.

The book attempts to straddle the science-Newness with the Tradition of Religion. In ‘The Ray Synchronicity’ it captures you at the start when the guns without sound pops with a promise. But soon the concoction that starts losing its potency as you flip through the pages.

And it banks on the most bankable storyline, the fight between the good and the bad. Of all the storylines I did love the assignment of emotional state change. And I like that she has kept it a bit open and not allowed the story line to end in a predictable way. I am sure there is more to come from within.

At certain stage, the propositions and the foundation of the storyline will look improbable, but that is science fiction and then the basic foundation of religion and spirituality may kick in at some stage. This is the period when you start seeing things through the rays.

In bits and pieces it makes an interesting reading. Suggest one chapter in the morning and two in the evening would do well.  But, to attempt reading it in one sitting is going to be too tough in the head.
