I doodle and I doodle a lot. In many ways that is my way to concentrate. People know of my passion with doodling. They understand my way. Now with the new SAMSUNG NOTES 5- It has given me a new direction and perspective. Now I can doodle whenever and wherever I want. Though playing around with stylus and getting comfortable with it took time.
Here is a walkthrough in my gaining some control of the pieces. And what a journey it has been. Starting with the lack of comfort and an over cautious touch.
I gained some experience on the simple pen and highlighter. The process made me feel a bit more adventurous and I tentatively took next steps.
I has started handling the calligraphy pen and the highlighter with ease. Yet I was unsure of the results.
There was those strokes of col0rs that said yes I was reaching somewhere. There was those attempts of utter simplicity in trying to understand the interplay of the colours and the medium I was using.
The traffic square was a bold- yes I will categories that as a bold statement of intent and playing with memory – the representation is somewhere near Shangrila in Delhi and the highlighter was getting stable within the hand. I liked what I was able to conjure here.
I was definitely ready for the next step.
It was natural to move towards scene. Towards structure and people. there were again few images that were 
imprinted in mind- it was still a use of bold straight colours. the pallet was restrictive and one was not willing to move out of the comfort zone.
The results said all, I was far from the space I would have wanted to play with. The images were not even close to what i would have wanted to see.
But then failure while trying to do your best is a learning in itself. I was not going to lose heart. It was still some 10-15 days of me playing with the new tool. The Samsung Notes 5 that my
family gifted me on my birthday. The surface and the control on stylus was missing. The use and abuse of the different mediums like en, pencil, calligraphy brush and calligraphy pen was yet to be understood completely.
It is at this stage that some form of need to create a style that I will be comfortable was felt. the patience that I should have while practicing and learning was missing.
That was the face that I remember from past. Have I done justice to it. maybe. But then it was my eyes that was seeing it. As it was with the family that I saw many years back in Goa and the Mumbai Pune Highway immediately after the toll naka, I suddenly realised that it is the flat bright colours that I am more comfortable and still life is what will make me smile.
This led to an experimentation to a set up that I think I will stay with for some time to come. Here it is for you to say.
The journey is not complete – it is just the first step of learning and may be getting some control on hand and the new medium. But I am surely enjoying this freedom.
