What starts as an exciting movie- midway starts attempting to do a lot more than what its weak stereotyped script of LOOTCASE streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar can support.
Nandan Kumar ( Kunal Khemmu) is a printing press technician who finds crores of currency notes in a suitcase- this is the Lootcase. This is his chance to change his life. To fulfil his nagging wife’s and the demanding kid’s dreams. Anyway, he has been honest enough to call out asking for the bag owner before taking it home.
Kumar Khemmu wants to keep the easy money. Still, he must hide it from his wife lata ( Rasika Dugal) while slowly start surprising with gifts and outings. But Lata is one of those old characters who will never allow him to keep that money, that is if she comes to know of it.
The money belongs to a minister ( Gajraj) who has a different style of manipulating people to do what he wants them to do. He is intimidatingly hilarious. Moreover in that Lootcase is tucked away file that has all the records of wrongdoing! So, Minister gets a cop Kolte (Ranvir Shorey ) to trace the loot case. This cop is smart and corrupt, and Shorey adds life to him. And then on the side is another Don (Vijay Raaz ) who wants the suitcase. Now he is an ardent viewer of National Geography from where he gets the rues and ways to survive in the animal kingdom of gundagardi. A beautiful product placement.
Who will get it? Will Nandan get to keep it? What will be the price he will have to pay for it? Watch LOOTCASE but not with high expectations. The only positive thing is Kunal Khemmu demonstrating that he has some spark that is waiting for the right story and director. Watch it if you have nothing else to do and you are fed up of all those cop-spy-mafia dramas.
