47th EPISODE. Pattaya and the word bring a plethora of distinct images to mind, but there is a hidden Pattaya that you can explore, if and only if you have the inclination and interest. Tear 2014, Dainik Bhaskar Annual conclave was scheduled in Pattaya. It was a conclave where lot many fresh experiments were happening. In between interested in my second jump I had started discussion within the delegates to catch like-minded people. To further strengthen the campaign and get as many people as possible interested in jumping from 13000 feet, I had even screened my last jump video. Maybe that worked against it, as reality dawned on many interested people as to what it really meant.
Net result, as the delegates were leaving for the coral Island trip, gang of 4-5 and I were standing outside trying to still convert people and change their mind. At the end we were eight of us left for the jump.

The day did not start well, the tour person has come while we were canvasing support and finding no one had left us stranded. A few calls and we were told that a different van will be picking us and that most likely we have missed the early jump slot.
When we reached there were already jumpers ready to go for their jump. WE paid and were ready with excitement when the weather decided to play spoil sport. There were clouds that could have been managed but they were the rainy clouds. The whole day went in weather watch. In between there was a possible slot when we even got harnessed. But that was not to happen. The batch before us jumped, we got ready to move the field when we saw that the weather has turned bad, in fact the plane was rolled inside the hanger and we were sure that we have lost our chance.

We waited and in fact went to do live ammunition shoot at the range next to the jump arena. Najeeb was covering his anxiety by over talking. Prabhjot was all fun and ready. Krishna the dude was game and was cool. He along with Ankita and shubhangi were pushing for us to wait and take chance with weather. I was okay if we jumped or not as this was my second in Pattaya.
Yet, the captain was sure that it will change and he along with few team members was of the view that we wait a bit more. No one actually wanted to get back to the rest of the team and share ‘No Jump’ that would be personal defeat.
JUST BEFORE THE JUMP
Thankfully, god heard lot many voices and decided to give us one last window before it turning dark.
Time we were rolled in. Got on the plane. A smooth take-off and a clear ride took us to 13000 feet. A second layer check is done. Tandem leader harnessed us, checked the holds and in no time we were out. Falling freely for the first 50 off seconds and free floating under the parachute draft for the next 3 minutes. A feeling that is so rich. You will have all the questions before you jump and not all the answers after you have completed your jump. But you would have taken another step towards fearless,
Trust me. Get a chance. Do the jump. Don’t be like the other delegates who in evening after listening to the experience could just wish they were there.
